On September 3, 2025, brave survivors of Jeffrey Epstein held a rally on Capitol Hill, calling for the full release of the Epstein files. Kristen Gibbons Feden, a dedicated advocate for survivors of sexual abuse joined a MSNBC panel to reflect on this courageous step and discuss what legal remedies may be available for those who were the victims of Epstein and his circle.
Epstein Survivors Demand Full Disclosure and Receive Bipartisan Support
The event, held on Capitol Hill, signified a major step forward for the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein and his co-conspirators in the continued fight for accountability. In recent months, the Trump Administration has been scrutinized for their shifting response to the Epstein files. In February 2025, Attorney General Pam Bondi originally told Fox News that the Epstein files were on her desk for review. That same month, she gave binders to several prominent conservative influencers labeled, “Epstein Files: Phase 1,” however, it was later revealed that those binders contained previously-released information.
In July, the Justice Department released a memo about the Epstein files, stating that it found “no incriminating ‘client list.” The memo garnered significant backlash from President Trump’s supporters who wanted the records to be released, especially considering it was a big part of his campaign promise, if re-elected.
This most-recent call for accountability and justice has received bipartisan support, with Thomas Massie (R), Ro Khanna (D), and Marjorie Taylor Green (R) present as the survivors boldly and bravely stated that they will make their own list if the government continues to remain silent.
“Several of us Epstein survivors have talked about creating our own list of names,” said Lisa Phillips. “We know the names. Many of us were abused by them. Now, together, as survivors, we will confidentially compile the names that were regularly seen in the Epstein world. It will be done by survivors for survivors.” Her brave statement was met with loud applause from the audience.
“It gave me goosebumps,” Kristen Gibbons Feden said when reflecting on Lisa’s statement. “That’s the type of justice survivors seek and want. It’s where they are reclaiming their power. It’s saying, "You know what, government, if you’re not going to tell everyone what these people did to us, we are going to force it out of you.”
Epstein was accused of international sex trafficking and sexual abuse involving underage girls. He committed suicide while awaiting trial in prison.
Kristen’s Legal Perspective
With many of Epstein’s crimes dating back decades, the question of whether or not survivors have any legal recourse is a legitimate concern. However, per Kristen Gibbons Feden, some charges could still be brought: “The statute of limitations should not be gone for every single person,” she explained. This window, however, will dictate when and where the lawsuit can be filed.
Due to the high-profile nature of this case and the amount of survivors coming forward, she believes it’s highly likely that civil and criminal justice will be awarded.
A Demand for Justice, A Message of Hope
This recent rally wasn’t just a call for accountability, but, rather, a moment that showed the world survivors will no longer be silenced. As Marjorie Taylor Greene pointed out, “Epstein was not alone. There were drivers, maids, and security details that enabled and facilitated his crimes.” People who could have spoken up, but didn’t.
These survivors’ courage to come forward shows that the silence ends with them. Sky Roberts, the brother of Virginia Giuffre, who was one of Epstein’s most outspoken survivors, explained to those in attendance that this rally was about “Ensuring that the future we leave behind isn’t one where the powerful get to hide behind their wealth, influence, and money to evade justice.” Following the rally, President Trump was asked about the Epstein files again, calling them a “Democrat hoax.”
At Anapol Weiss, we stand behind these brave survivors and remain dedicated to telling their story and pursuing the deep justice owed to them. Kristen Gibbons Feden put it best: “Epstein was an international trafficker. We need to know the flight logs, travel records, passenger manifests, and who was there. We need to know who else was given plea bargains, non-prosecution agreements, and immunity deals. These are things the American people deserve to know.”
With these survivors willing to come forward, that possible reveal has gotten that much closer.
