By: Anapol Weiss

Managing Partners Tom Anapol and Sol Weiss were recently interviewed on the legal podcast Leading Through Adversity. They spoke with founder Michael Mogill of legal consulting group Crisp Video about the firm’s transition to remote work, tips to thriving during uncertainty, and what gives Anapol Weiss law firm its edge.

Leading through adversity, now and into the future

Throughout the show, Tom and Sol shared key aspects of the firm’s success, beginning with the most recent transition of in-office to remote work.

“We’ve been very fortunate,” Sol shared. “We planned to shut down before we shut down, and everybody was able to work remotely.”

The firm was able to be just as—or even more—productive throughout out work remote. “The associate and partner time was up during the pandemic, during the three months that we were closed,” he continued.

“It’s been pretty seamless,” Tom agreed. “It’s been a good, eye-opening experience.”

Communication is key

Tom shared that finding new ways to communicate has been important. “Technology has been essential for us and the ability to communicate with partners and law firms all over the country.” One of the key new forms of communication has been via the technology Anapol Weiss now utilizes regularly.

“The technology we’re using made it much more seamless. The ability to communicate by email and e-blasts, we’re working with their emails much more today than we have in the near past.”

Technology use has allowed the firm to improve the intake process as well as client communications. Sol explained: “We got information out in real-time. We developed a one-page, fillable PDF which would allow us to get all the information we needed to look at the cases.”

Looking into the future, both partners agree that internal communication will continue to be key.

“I would say that we have probably more regular team meetings,” Tom said. He emphasized the importance of ensuring everybody understands what their roles and responsibilities are.
