On July 18, 2025, members of the American Association for Justice (AAJ) came together to participate in their Annual Convention service project. This year, AAJ hosted two impactful initiatives in partnership with GLIDE, a nationally recognized organization dedicated to advancing social justice. Volunteers from the LGBT Caucus, Minority Caucus, Women Trial Lawyers Caucus, New Lawyers Division, and the Trial Lawyers Care Committee contributed their time and energy by assembling hygiene kits and assisting with GLIDE’s Daily Free Meals program. Among the dedicated volunteers was Kristen Varallo, an associate at Anapol Weiss, who helped assemble hygiene kits for those in need.
About the GLIDE Event
Held at Stebner Gertler & Guadagni, in San Francisco, CA, volunteers came together to assemble hygiene kits for those in need. The supplies, which were purchased through a wish list, included a variety of essential care items, such as socks, lotion, deodorant, feminine hygiene products, first aid kits, shaving razors, combs, antibacterial hand sanitizer, and more. Each hygiene kit was loaded into a black tote bag and distributed to 100 people.

“The opportunity to participate in service projects at AAJ’s conventions is always my favorite part of convention,” Kristen said. “Our work has the power to deeply impact lives far beyond the courtroom, and having the support of my firm, along with the opportunity through AAJ, to give back in a purposeful way is the most important part of my involvement in this organization. Knowing how great the need is in San Francisco, this year’s project with GLIDE felt especially meaningful.”
