Anapol Weiss shareholder Kila Baldwin, partner Marni S. Berger, and associate Jillian Bello are proud to announce that they have recently secured settlement in a sexual assault and negligent security case against a K-12 school in Pensylvania. While the settlement brings closure and healing to move forward for our client, it also represents a seismic shift in how the school will handle sexual abuse in the future.
Driving Change Through Accountability
As a result of the outcome of this case, the school will be training students about sexual assault awareness and common issues that arise from its drug and alcohol policy, with an additional emphasis on training foreign students who may be unfamiliar with the laws set forth by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. In addition to these changes, the school will also develop an anonymous sexual abuse reporting system and train students on how to use it, effective at the commencement of the 2025-2026 school year.
This resolution reflects a broader commitment to institutional accountability and student safety through proactive policy reform. These changes, focused on sexual assault awareness and education, are what matter most — not only to help prevent future incidents, but to provide a meaningful path forward for our client.
