PowRyte Pressure Washer Warning: Electrocution and Shock Injury Lawyers

On October 22, 2026, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) warned consumers to stop using PowRyte electric pressure washers immediately because of a serious risk of electric shock and electrocution.

According to the CPSC, the pressure washers lack a Ground-Fault Circuit-Interrupter (GFCI) on or near the power plug. A GFCI is a basic safety device that cuts power when electricity comes into contact with water. Without one, users face a risk of serious injury or death. The CPSC has received at least one incident report involving a unit without a GFCI.

The manufacturer, Powell Works, Inc. of China, has not responded to the CPSC’s requests for a recall, which means there is no refund or replacement program for consumers.

If you or a loved one was shocked or injured while using a PowRyte pressure washer, Anapol Weiss can help you understand your legal options. Call 215-735-1130 or contact us online for a free, confidential consultation.

Which PowRyte Pressure Washers Are Affected?

The warning covers PowRyte electric pressure washers, which are green with black trim and come with a hose, several quick-connect nozzles, and a foam cannon. They were sold on Amazon.com and eBay.com for between $92 and $320.

What Should You Do If You Own One?

The CPSC advises consumers to:

  • Stop using the pressure washer immediately
  • Unplug it, cut the power cord, and dispose of it
  • Not sell or give it away

Consumers can report safety incidents at SaferProducts.gov or call the CPSC Hotline at 800-638-2772.

If you were injured, photograph the pressure washer, its labeling, and your injuries, and keep any order confirmations from Amazon or eBay. Because the pressure washer itself may be important evidence in a potential injury claim, consult a product liability attorney about safely preserving it before disposing of it. Do not use the pressure washer again.

Holding Sellers Accountable When Manufacturers Won’t

When an overseas manufacturer refuses to recall a dangerous product, injured consumers may still have legal options, including claims against the companies that marketed, distributed, or sold it.
