Jim has been named co-lead counsel in three national multidistrict litigations (MDL):
- In re Trasylol Products Liability litigation consolidated in the Southern District of Florida
- In re Zimmer NexGen Products Liability Litigation in the Northern District of Illinois
- In re Mirena Products Liability Litigation in the Southern District of New York
Recognized as a leader in personal injury law in Philadelphia, Jim has given more than 350 individual seminars for state and national bar and trial lawyer associations. He also co-authored a book about handling motor vehicle crash cases in Pennsylvania, which is the most widely referenced book on motor vehicle and automobile personal injury practice.
Jim was appointed as Vice Chair of the prestigious Civil Procedural Rules Committee of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court in 2011. He is a former President of the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association and former Chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Civil Litigation Section. Jim served six years on the Board of Governors of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and co-chaired that association’s Baycol Litigation Group in 2002 and 2003.
Accomplished Legal Background
Jim earned his law degree from the Dickinson School of Law. He opened the firm’s Harrisburg office and continues to handle cases throughout Pennsylvania. For more than 30 years, Jim has successfully represented people injured by unsafe drugs and medical devices as well as car accidents, truck collisions and construction accidents.
Jim has won complex crash cases with multiple plaintiffs and defendants including cases involving as many as 47 vehicles.
