David Senoff’s practice focuses on insurance and managed care bad faith cases, class action litigation involving insurance coverage disputes, consumer class actions and complex personal injury litigation including medical malpractice actions.
David filed the first case in the Luzerne County Juvenile Litigation – also known as the “Kids for Cash” cases, a group of four class action and non-class action cases filed by juveniles who were wrongfully adjudicated and detained in violation of their civil rights. David was selected with partner Sol Weiss to serve as Co-Lead Class Counsel. To date, David has negotiated combined settlements of approximately $25 million for the juvenile victims.
Since 2000, David has served as Lead and Co-Lead Counsel in class actions and individual cases against Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance entities that acted in bad faith toward their subscribers. He is currently involved in numerous multidistrict litigation cases involving consumers’ loss of their sensitive personal health information and other data. Furthermore, David was recently named Co-Lead Counsel in a class action regarding the mandatory use of “payroll debit cards” by an employer, which was found to violate Pennsylvania wage law.
Named a Top Pennsylvania Attorney
David was inducted as a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum in 2003 and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum in 2008. Membership is limited to attorneys who have won million and multi-million dollar verdicts, awards and settlements for their clients. The award recognizes recipients’ excellence in advocacy.
In 2013, David was named in the Best Lawyers in America for the category of Insurance Law. He was also selected for inclusion in Pennsylvania Super Lawyers as a Rising Star from 2005 to 2007, and he has been named among Super Lawyers since 2008. David is admitted to The National Trial Lawyers, an invitation-only association comprised of the top 100 trial lawyers in each state.
Accomplished Legal Background
David earned his law degree from the Temple University School of Law in 1992. At law school, he co-founded and served as the Executive Editor of the Temple Political and Civil Rights Law Review. David also served as a judicial intern for The Honorable Herbert Hutton of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. David is an elected member of the Board of Directors of the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers’ Association and serves as its Communications Coordinator. Within the Pennsylvania Association for Justice, he has served as an elected member of the Board of Governors and is currently the Co-Chair of the Insurance Bad Faith Section. David is also a member of the Insurance Bad Faith Trial Lawyers Association and the Class Action Trial Lawyers Association.
David is admitted to practice before all courts in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the State of New Jersey. He is also admitted to the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, the United States District Court for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Pennsylvania and the United States District Court of New Jersey.
David has written extensively on the topics of managed care liability and insurance bad faith, and he has been published in The Legal Intelligencer and The Verdict. He is also a member of Law360’s 2016 Privacy & Consumer Protection editorial advisory board.
